The minimum age is 23 years Age restrictions are 21-23 you can still hire the vehicle subject to conditions driver history and a £14 per day excess dependant on vehicle type.

Should your trip plans include driving outside the country (uk) Please let us know 7 days prior to renting the vehicle, as restrictions may apply in some countries. It may be necessary to purchase additional insurance for such trips.

Fuel

Vehicles will be supplied with a small amount of fuel, check that you put the correct fuel in the vehicle. Putting the incorrect fuel type in the vehicle could damage the engine and will result in loss of your deposit if repairs are needed (see individual vehicle filler caps for correct fuel type). No refunds will be given for unused fuel if the vehicle is returned with excess fuel.

Rental includes

Unlimited mileage unto 27 days for rentals over 28 days or more, mileage is to be limited to 3000per month excess miles will be charged at 14p per mile. Insurance (collision damage waiver, theft protection and third party liability) vehicle licence fee (road tax).

Your rental includes collision damage waiver & theft protection with an excess of £300.00 for all vehicles.

Office hours are 9 am to 6pm in case of out of hour’s emergency please call 07702 / 732684 answer machines are on both the office number and the emergency mobile number if no answers leave a message and someone will get back to you. If for any reason there is no one available and you have to stay in a hotel or any form of rented accommodation over night you are solely responsible for your own costs incurred for over-stay.

All bookings by our clients are subject to our terms and conditions. No other terms, conditions and guaranties, expressed or implied, by custom or in the coarse of dealing shall form part of any contract between Mercia van hire and our clients, except for those terms implied by law whose application is Law.

The customer accepts that in making a booking with Mercia van hire, they do so in the knowledge of the terms and conditions here and on our website. All other statements or representations made by mercia van hire staff are of no effect unless put in righting to the client. We may from time to time use other rental company’s to alleviate demand and you may have to sign a rental agreement with said company and in doing so agree to abide by their terms also subject to local laws. You should be fully aware of the terms and conditions signed by you, as Mercia van hire cannot be held responsible for documentation signed by the client.

Option 1

Excess cover will be charged at £25.00 1st day and £7.50per day their after this is instead of leaving a deposit and covers you for the insurance excess charge. It does not cover you for traffic violations and is non refundable after hire period.

Option 2

You will be required to leave a deposit when collecting the vehicle up to the value of the excess, the amount that would be blocked is £300.00 However we would point out that you may be liable for upto £600in the event of a claim. The deposit usually would be taken on a credit card, although cash is an option in some cases but you need to confirm this when booking. If the vehicle is damaged during rental then you will be charged up to the value of the excess amount. In the event that you the renter has behaved and driven recklessly or under the influence of alcohol or drugs you may be liable to the full cost. Please note that in some insurance instances there are exceptions to cover which may include Windscreens, tyres the under side of the vehicle the interior, towing charges and replacement keys. Full terms are available on request. You may be able to take out further personal insurance in order to cover these Eventualities.

1 Reservation amendments following issue of confirmation/invoice but before the period of rental may be made free of charge. Reservations which are fully pre-paid at the time of booking may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental. Where a reservation originally secured with a deposit payment is cancelled more than 48 hours before pick up time then a cancellation fee equal to the deposit amount May be charged. All reservations cancelled within 48hours of the commencement of the rental will incur a charge equal to 2 days rental or the deposit amount which ever is the greater. This will also include no shows; including non-receipt of vehicle due to insufficient or incorrect documentation.

2 When collecting the vehicle from the us the principal driver and the any additional drivers will need to provide a full driving licence in their name. For UK drivers with the new style licence both parts of the licence will be required. If you the driver have note held a full licence for two years or has any serious endorsements, then please let us no as this may restrict the renting. Please note that an international driving license / permit does not replace the requirement for a regular driving license. If using a international license /permit, a full drivers license will still be required in the principal drivers name to be able to rent the vehicle and also a utility bill or similar not more than three month old. Please note that we will require a deposit at the start of the rental to cover the insurance excess and fuel, this will normally be returned provided that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as rented. We would normally require a guaranteed check or credit card as a preferred method of payment. Cash is not normally accepted so please advise us in time if you require paying by cash. When you collect the vehicle please inspect it for any damage and report it to us before leaving with the vehicle. We would also recommend that you re-check the vehicle back in to us with one of our representatives.

3 All rentals are charged for on a 24-hour basis, the discretion of the return clerk will be final on late returns. You the driver /renter are responsible for all tolls, congestion charges, parking and traffic fines.

Administration charges will apply if we have to sort out costs and fines from parking offences.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with any part of your rental, you must let us no on return of the vehicle. You may also put complaints in righting to the address shown and we will do our best to sort out any problems.
